Yes, it is a competition, and at the end of the day if you run faster, jump higher or throw farther than everyone else, you "win". But that's not the point. Not for you. You are always pushing to shave a 1/10 of a second here or add a 1/2" there. You are never satisfied, you are never content... and you never want to be.
